Privacy Policy

Last updated: 1 January 2026  ·  Effective: 1 January 2026

We built Vyme to help you understand your money — not to exploit it. We collect only what's needed to make the app work, we don't sell your data, and we'll always be upfront about any changes.

01 Who we are

Vyme is operated by [Your Company Name], registered in [Country / Registration Details]. References to "Vyme", "we", "us", or "our" refer to that entity.

02 What data we collect

Vyme is a manual-entry app. We do not connect to your bank, salary provider, or any third-party financial service. Data falls into two categories:

Data you provide directly:

  • Your income figure (e.g. annual salary or hourly rate)
  • Your weekly or monthly hours worked
  • Your daily shift hours (used to calculate how many shifts a purchase represents)
  • Individual spending entries you log manually
  • Savings amounts you log manually

Data collected automatically:

  • Basic crash reports to help us fix bugs
  • Device type and operating system version
  • General, non-identifiable usage analytics (e.g. which screens are visited)

We do not collect your name, email, phone number, or payment information unless you voluntarily contact us.

03 How we use your data

We use the data we collect solely to:

  • Calculate and display your personal time-to-money rate within the app
  • Store your spending and savings log between sessions
  • Identify and fix bugs or crashes
  • Understand feature usage so we can improve the app

We do not use your financial data for advertising, profiling, or any commercial purpose beyond operating the app for you.

04 How we store your data

Your income, hours, and log entries are stored locally on your device. If we introduce cloud sync in a future version, we will notify you in advance and give you the option to opt in.

Any data transmitted to our servers (such as crash diagnostics) is encrypted in transit using TLS. We retain diagnostic data for no longer than 12 months.

05 Sharing your data

We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal data. We may share limited, anonymised data with:

  • Crash reporting tools — to help us diagnose technical issues
  • Analytics providers — aggregated, non-identifiable usage data only
  • Legal authorities — if required by law or a valid legal process

All third-party providers are contractually required to handle your data in line with this policy and applicable data protection law.

06 Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, delete, or restrict your data, and to data portability. To exercise any of these rights, contact us at thevymeteam@gmail.com. We will respond within 30 days.

Since most data is stored locally on your device, many of these rights can be exercised directly by clearing the app's data in your device settings or deleting the app.

07 Children's privacy

Vyme is not directed at children under 13 (or 16 in certain jurisdictions). We do not knowingly collect data from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, contact us and we will delete it promptly.

08 Changes to this policy

If we make material changes — such as introducing cloud storage, monetisation features, or new data uses — we will notify you in the app ahead of time. The "last updated" date at the top always reflects the current version.
